29 April 2011, Singapore – Making its debut in Southeast Asia in march 2011, The Lion King in Singapore has received its 100,000th audience member at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands on 28 April 2011.    The overwhelming support has led to additional performance being released in the Singapore production.  Additional tickets for the award-winning musical were released in early April due to overwhelming demand.  Tickets for an additional two months are now on sale through to July.

Singapore Management University student Daniel Chow, age 23, was the lucky 100,000th audience member. He was accompanied by a fellow student Goh Si Ying, age 20.  They were presented with a bouquet of flowers and had their seats upgraded to Platinum class.  They got to meet the lead cast on stage after the performance.

Both Daniel and Si Ying said following the impressive reviews and great feedback from their friends, they were excited about watching the musical.
“We wanted to watch the musical as we grew up with The Lion King and after the rave reviews, we knew the musical will be very exciting and very enjoyable. To be the 100,000th audience member is a huge  surprise and we are very excited. We would like to thank Marina Bay Sands for this opportunity. I also think The Lion King is a great way to launch other musicals in Singapore,” said Daniel
