7 September, 2010, Singapore – Crabtree & Evelyn unveiled Iris, their new range of fragrance and body care, which was inspired from a single, glorious bloom prized for centuries by royalty and nobility from its origination in (Firenze), and a favourite of Renaissance perfumers who featured it in their elegant creations. First brought to England from Italy in the 1400s, archival history indicates King Edward IV favoured its use to scent his wardrobe.
Crabtree & Evelyn launched the the new fragrance for the body and home in Singapore today at Mandarin Oriental Hotel to the media and guests. Armed with the Canon Ixus 300HS point and shoot camera, I snapped quite a lot of photos at the event to test the review set.
Brand Guardian of Crabtree & Evelyn – and Ownership
Over 20 years ago, Dato’ Sandra Lee and her husband were introduced to Crabtree & Evelyn, while on vacation in California where they stayed in a boutique hotel that provided Crabtree & Evelyn toileteries. Dato’ Sandra Lee and her husband acquired Crabtree & Evelyn from previous owner Cyrus Harvery. Dat’Sandra’s involvement with Crabtree & Evelyn has been gradual over the years. During the brand’s rebranding exercise in 2009, she decided to helm the project and joined the brand on a full-time basis spearheading the group’s management and operations team in the UK and US in new product development. Dato Sandra, born and bred in Singapore, moved to Malaysia upon marriage some 29 years ago where she resides in Ipoh, Perak, the birthplace of her husband, Tan Sri Lee Oi Hian.
