YouTube Top 10 Trending Videos For 2014 In Singapore & Global

Check out what Singaporeans are watching on YouTube this year. Katy Perry top the charts for both Singapore and Global music videos with “Dark Horse” which claimed more than 700 millions views since February 2014. I guessed because of the religious controversy, the music video managed to attract a swamp of viewership from its haters, which I guess it is not a bad thing for Katy.

 

While we crooned along to Disney’s Frozen hit “Let It Go” with the rest of the world, this year’s list show that there’s nothing Singaporeans like better laughing along with local Singaporean creators, whether it’s revisiting school memories with YouTube sensations like Tan Jian Hao’s “Past vs Present: Teenagers” and “25 Types of Singaporean Teachers” or everyday life with Wah Banana’s “10 Types of People in The Hawker Centre”.

 

Singaporeans also embraced quirky commercials like OWL International’s humourous Chinese New Year celebrations in “Hello~, 过年几happy有没有?” and Snickers’ “Rocking Grandma”. Personally, I am guilty in sharing these two commercials on my social media feed earlier these year. They are just too good not to share, and i did play it on repeat for the OWL’s commercial during CNY. Glad that local commercial can top the chart this year and went viral.
