GameStart 2015 finalises their line-up with one of the biggest news to ever reach a Star Wars fan. Online entertainment portal, GeekCulture is working with Bandai Namco to bring in Singapore’s only arcade unit of Star Wars: Battle Pod to the event. It will be on a first come, first serve basis over at their booth at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre from 13 to 15 November 2015.

As the name suggests, it will be a standalone, dome-shaped pod which will house the player as he/she battles through five exotic and iconic battles within the Star Wars universe. And yes, it will include the defining scene in Star Wars Episode VI Return of the Jedi where you get to destroy the reactor core of Death Star II!

The arcade unit will feature five different stages of increasing difficulty. Credits: Bandai Namco.

Expect to be completely immersed in hyperspace and piloting some of the most memorable vehicles to victory. And, as we do so, we have more than sweet victory to be proud of. While the hardware was manufactured in Japan, the entire game was actually designed in Singapore! Right on our shores is a team of talented software engineers, some of whom are Singaporeans, that we have to thank for bringing die-hard fans into the world we know and love with a passion.

What’s more, GeekCulture will be holding a contest, rewarding top scorers of the day with Star Wars goodies. This will also include a special price for the top, prevailing scorer at the end of GameStart 2015. So, who’s up for the challenge?

Tickets for the consumer event on 14 and 15 November can be purchased via Peatix for S$12 per day or S$22 for both days. Cosplayers may want to skip on this as recognizable characters will enjoy a special rate of S$5/day, payable at the door!
