BONIA Unveils Elegance Of Nature With Its First Natural Boutique In Singapore

BONIA started back in 1974 by an ingenious man who made a business in making leather goods desirable in Singapore, and, has since expanded its reach into 30 other countries with its high-fashion leatherwear and accessories.

They continue to attract with their superior craftsmanship, skilfully combined with their finest European leather. Nevertheless, their quest for great quality does not stop there; they have continued to push the limits of the fashion industry by joining forces with Mother Earth in their new eco-elegant Brianna collection.

A True Natural Boutique

The brand has taken a bold step towards sustainable fashion, an aspect that industry struggles to answer for even now. They have taken away the traditional and chemical heavy process, in replacement with an eco-friendly tanning alternative of high quality raw leather with natural oils and vegetable dyes. A process, which incidentally, gives even better results in high grade hide – a major plus point for leather aficionados, for sure.

This very green leather has become the brand’s signature, and has taken over traditional leather processing in many of BONIA’s quality products today. So much so, that they will be launching the first two Natural Boutiques in Singapore to house their eco-bags and purses all in one roof; One in Terminal 2, and the other in Terminal 3, Changi Airport.

BONIA’s love for nature really shines through in their new Brianna collection. Boasting minimalistic designs, it breathes an air of simple elegance. Quite a match with an effortlessly simple Audrey Hepburn look. Continuing with the theme, they have also replaced the gold logo with an embossed one, going for a more eco-friendly vibe – which, I felt gave the bag a more sophisticated look and hope that they continue this for more of their collections.

A bag is an incredibly important part to anyone’s outfit – from looking good, and being able to hold all your necessities in one go. Regardless, I would not want to be that person rummaging through the bag for a pack of mints while the rest stared on and waited. Thankfully, the collection also comes with similarly designed purses and pouches, all with the pragmatic design of compartments in a variety of sizes to mix-and-match with the handbags.

It excites me when there’s a story behind something as simple as a handbag you carry around. BONIA’s Brianna is one such example, with each stitch carrying the craftsmanship honed through decades of training, on a luxurious piece of leather that may revolutionise the whole eco-friendly trend. While, the whole fashion industry is still a major outcry against the environment, BONIA’s initiative is not only stylish, but also the first step towards a more sustainable and, of course, beautiful world. I mean, is there really a point in carrying a stunning bag, when all around you is in ruins?
