This morning, the Desigual Seminaked campaign kicked off in Singapore to mark the beginning of its year end sale at its Orchard Central store. First launched in 2005, the first Seminaked campaign started out as a “fully naked” event featuring 50 fans queuing up at a Barcelona Desigual Store.
The Seminaked Party works this way. You enter seminaked and leave fully clothed. The first 100 Desigual fans in their swimwear received a free outfit of their choice. The boys were in underwear, boxers or swimwear. Over 300 fans signed up on the Desigual Facebook Fan Page to take part in this event.
Singapore is the second Asian city after Tokyo, Japan in 2013 to hold this event. This event has also been held in over 50 markets including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, London and cities in US including Soho in New York and San Francisco. This season, Desigual’s Seminaked parties head to Leipzig, Viena Kaertner, Namur, Barcelona, Monpellier and Milano Via Dante.
The first two customers were in the queue since 11pm last night and the next eight customers joined the queue by 5am this morning By 8.18am this morning, there were some 60 people in the queue which quickly filled up with more people before the shopping started at 9am. MTV Asia VJ Hanli Hoefer was present to emcee at the event.
It was pandemonium when the clock struck 9am. Seminaked bodies rubbed off each other as they went on to pick up their outfits. People were trying on pants, and some were deluded with the sizes they picked for themselves.
