AirAsia In-flight Menu – Delicious Treats Onboard

If you are ever flying with AirAsia, I would recommend you to board your flight with an empty stomach as their in-flight menu comes with a good selection of treats that you will only find up in the air . These delectable food merely cost less than S$10 for a meal with drinks. They are delicious and most of the time out shine the food served on full service airlines’s economy menu.

Prebook your AirAsia Hot Meals online 24 hours prior to your flight, as there are many exclusive items available for online booking only. Prebook and you would not be disappointed when the flight attendant informs you that the item you want is sold out. Depending on the destination you are flying to with AirAsia, different localized menus give you a taste of authentic local dishes before you even get to your destination.

So whenever I fly with AirAsia Malaysia, I will definitely order myself a Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak and a Triple Chocolate Muffin for dessert.

Recently we had a chance to try one of AirAsia Thailand’s latest addition to its in-flight menu – Mango with Sticky Rice which costs THB120. And to help facilitate with the food tasting on board the flight from Singapore to Bangkok, Singapore celebrity DJs, Peifen and Jiafa from Y.E.S. 93.3FM were on board to serve guests as trainee flight attendants.

The new Mango with Sticky Rice is to-die-for. The mango is soft, sweet and slightly tangy making a perfect ensemble with the aromatic coconut sticky rice. And best of all, this dessert is served chilled.

Another of my all time favourite from AirAsia Thailand, Thai Green Curry Chicken with Rice, was also served during the tasting. This dish managed to kept the authentic Thai flavour while still able to keep the rice soft and yet not lumpy. This dish is available via pre book meals and is not on the inflight menu. The menu on board offers Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak (THB150), Uncle Chin chicken rice (THB150) and ML. Noi basil fried with chicken on rice (Comes as a set with Jia Duo Bao herbal drink at THB190). If you prefer noodles, there’s the Cantonese-Style flat noodles with Chicken and Brown Sauce and Coca Cola set (THB190).

If you prefer something easier to eat, there is the Tortilla A’la Tuna which sells for an affordable THB100.

Our favourite snacks include the Dao Fruit Chips which retails at THB90. We bought three packs to bring home, only because they did not have anything more than that on board. We originally wanted 10.

If you think we are overselling the in-flight meal for AirAsia, check out the reaction of the rest of the passengers who were enjoying their meal with us on the flight to Bangkok.

We spoke with Jia Fa and Pei Fen after the flight about their flight attendant experience.  They both agreed that serving on board is not an easy job and moving foward they will be more patient and even nicer to flight attendants. Would they consider a career switch to flight attendants? Well their answer was unanimously no.
