After a naming dispute of the Ku Dé Ta name in Singapore with the Bali counterpart, L Capital Asia, the Asian Private Equity business of LVMH Moet Hennessy (LVMH) relaunches the luxury lifesetyle, dining and entertainment brand at Marina Bay Sands as CÉ LA VI. This is abbreviated from the French phrase C’est La Vie which translates to This Is Life. CÉ LA VI in Singapore will undergo renovation this summer.
The new brand was launched on 4 June 2015 alongside the announcement of the July opening of a brand new venue on the top three floors of Hong Kong’s newly reborn California Tower in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong.
The brand DNA for CÉ LA Vi revolves around five core pillars:
- Iconic rooftop location with breathtaking views in a spectacular setting that transports guests to another world
- Organic architectural design inspired by the many facets of Asian civilisation

The Singapore culinary programme is led by Executive Chef Frederic Faucheux who has worked in various Michelin Star restaurants and helped to pioneer the Nobu outlet in Cape Town. Chefs from CÉ LA VI spent several years opening Nobu restaurants globally previously as well as Corporate Executive Pastry Chef Jason Licker who was crowned Iron Chef Thailand last year are part of the team opening the CÉ LA VI in Hong Kong.
Swedish born mixology genius and Head mixologist Knut Randhem will come up with impossibly chic concoctions that capture the spirit of Asia.
Joshua Pillai helms the largest resident DJ team in Singapore consisting of 14 stellar local DJs and the newest superstar addition from New York, DJ Spinbad who is also on Russel Peters’ official tour DJ and the most radio-syndicated DJ in the world.
On 10 June 2015, American Celebrity Lil’ Jon is set to kick off CEÉ LA VI as he plays guest DJ to the iconic Grey Goose Parties, V Series.
Over the next five years, the brand is expanding to other key urban cities across the world of which Dubai and Taipei are already in progress.
