It’s almost the end of the year! I cannot believe the festive season is already rolling round.
Personally, I haven’t been to Mount Faber in months and I was delighted to try the new festive menus at the year-old Spuds & Aprons, and even happier to be riding the DC Superheroes cable car up to the restaurant. It’s more fun than hailing a cab.
The festive set menus at Spuds & Aprons are available from 1 to 31 December. The three-course set lunch (S$35++) is good value for money with a Togarashi Pan-seared Norweigian Salmon to start.
There are two choices for mains, either the Aglio Olio Chipotle Squid Ink Pasta or the Baked Asian Turkey Roll. I’d recommend the turkey roll over the pasta, as it is a more interesting dish. The turkey meat is mixed with tomatoes before being baked, and it comes with butternut pumpkin puree, Brussel sprouts and a tangy citrus salsa. The lunch menu ends with a Lemon Meringue Torte for dessert.
I’m sure most of you are more familiar with the eight scoop Swensen’s Earthquake, if that is a piece of cake to you, level up with the Mountain of Happiness (S$58++) for dessert.
It is a massive 16 scoops of Haagen Dazs ice cream – strawberry, green tea, Belgian chocolate, mango sorbet, rum and raisin, strawberry sorbet, vanilla – topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Finish this huge sundae in 15 minutes and you’ll get the dessert for free!
There is also a four-course dinner menu (S$80++) available at Spuds & Aprons. Do check out the festive menus at the Faber Bistro and Sky Dining as well.
