10 winners can win a romantic getaway for two to Lombok in Tigerair’s “Month of Love” promotion. Log on to Tigerair’s Facebook page and register via Tigerair’s Month of Love “Ode-O-Matic” Facebook competition App .  Create and dedicate poems to your loved ones here. The more ‘likes’ you get on the post featuring your original poem will win you the prize. This competition ends at 12pm on 28 February 2014. Top three contestants will each receive a romantic getaway holiday package to Lombok with return tickets for two as well as a two-night stay at the Qunci Villas, Lombok. The fourth to 10th winners will each win a pair of return tickets to Lombok.

The airline is also offering a S$50 or S$100 all-in one way promotion to 33 destinations including Hong Kong, Macau, Boracay, Bali and Phuket till 23 February 2014. Visit for more information.

KLM Launches app for the iPad with a unique 3D design letting you search for future trip ideas, book, check-in or select a seat amongst many other features. The 3D spinning globe lets you select your next holiday destination based on various criteria such as budget, temperature and time of flight. It gives you an overview of all KLM destinations where your Facebook friends are living.

If you are a Flying Blue member, you can find your profile information and manage your journeys. KLM’s Pack & Go deals can also be found and booked through this app. KLM will develop an Android version for later this year.

KLM launched www.klmdreamcatcher.com in January that sorts data from 12 global services such as TripAdvisor, Yelp.com, Google, Wikipedia, Facebook, YouTube, Muselia, Last FM and Flickr to help you prepare for your trip.  the KLM Dream Catcher is easy to use. All you have to do is key in your interested destination, choose a time period in the calendar and you would get information to help you with your trip such as weather, events, best travel tips that the internet has to offer, reviews and ratings of hotels, bars, restaurants, museums, cultural events, entertainment, shopping places and more. You can also export your ready-to-go-map to your smartphone, print it or share with your friends or book your flight directly at KLM.com.

 

Ready, Set, Go with Air France

From 17 June this year, Air France will add three more flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Singapore. The airline will have 10 weekly flights then because of heavy demand during the summer months. The additional flights will be operated by Boeing 777-200 with a capacity of 247 seats including 4 in La Première, 49 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 170 in Economy.

 

SCOOT Celebrates Renewed Partnership with Rolls-Royce

Scoot’s CEO, Campbell Wilson received the one-of-a-kind titanium fan blade from Rolls-Royce AVP Civil Large Engines Philip Atkins at the Singapore Airshow 2014 marking Scoot’s commitment to the Trent 1000 engine to power its new fleet of 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. These Trent 1000s are assembled in Singapore at the Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus.

The commemorative blade bears the artwork inspired by local artist Mohammad Azlan Ramlan also known as Ceno2. It is painted in fine-art graffiti style to evoke the desire of travellers to go places yet come together as one. Scoot will start taking delivery of its Dreamliners from November this year.

Jet Airways Launches Mobile App for iOS

Jet Airways launches its mobile application for the iOS platform allowing you to book tickets, check flight status, manage JetPrivilege account and enjoy special promotion offers amongst other features. It is available for free download from App Store and is compatible with iOS 6 and above.

You can also get real time flight status based on flight number, airport or route, registration. We find it surprising that Jet Airways is the first and only airline in India to offer a native mobile app for the iOS platform in addition to apps for Blackberry, Android and Windows devices, according to Mr. Gaurang Shetty, SVP for Commercial at Jet Airways.

 

Embrace Joy of Flying with SilkAir

The regional wing of Singapore Airlines, SilkAir celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Celebrations kicked off with the collection of its 25th aircraft – the Boeing 737-800NG which will progressively replace its existing Airbus A320 fleet.

The airline has also launched its new brand campaign to rekindle the joy of flying, moving away from the idea of travel being purely transactional. The campaign is titled ‘A Joy to Fly’ and redefines true value for the discerning traveller, emphasising and bringing to life the many benefits that SilkAir offers through a set of distinctive icons that feature across all the ads.

SilkAir will also hold an online contest where fans can either visit silkair.com/ajoytofly or scan the QR code located below each aircraft window on the City Hall MRT platform to stand a chance to fly to their dream destination on SilkAir’s new Boeing planes by voting for their top 3 dream destinations. The contest closes on 13 March 2014, with 12 Economy Class return tickets up for grabs.
