Korean Air is the world’s first airline to order the Boeing 747-8 for both its cargo and passenger operations. It is also the first airline to operate both the Boeing 747-8 and 777 for its freight. Korean Air recently finalised an order for five 747-8 Intercontinentals and six 777-300ER (Extended Range) Boeing aircraft that was announced as a commitment during the Paris Air Show in June. It has also added one additional 787 Dreamliner with a combined order value of US$3.9 billion at current list prices.

Korean Air currently operates a fleet of 90 Boeing 737, 747 and 777 passenger airplanes. It also operates a fleet of close to 40 Airbus aircraft consisting of A330-200, A330-300, A300-600 and A380-800. The airline also operates an all-Boeing cargo fleet of 27 747-400, 747-8 and 777 Freighters.

The airline’s Aerospace Division is also a key Boeing partner on both the 747-8 and 787 programs, supplying the distinctive raked wing-tips for each model.
