British Airways has developed an app for the new Apple Watch when it launches on 24 April 2015. The app will make travel easier for customers showing the summary of your flight including the departure time, flight status and a countdown to departure time on the face of the Apple Watch. You will also be able to receive check-in and airport gate notifications on your Apple Watch. Visitors to the lounges at Heathrow’s Terminal 5 will receive iBeacon powered welcome messages.
KLM is introducing the KLM Smartwatch App trial with Android smart watch technology that provides trip information. The app lets you carry around your boarding pass on your wrist and also assists you with relevant airport-related activities. The app will prompt you with trip-related notifications 24 hours before departure.
KLM plans to further link technologies to offer innovative services so that passengers are always a step ahead on their journey. The airline hopes to explore opportunities for future Apple Watch app.
