Emirates’ newly delivered Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts feature the industry’s largest screens and three times the media storage.
This is the Middle Eastern airline’s new generation in-flight entertainment system. With larger screens in First and Economy class and three times the media storage offering a better choice of content on board. First Class in-flight entertainment screens have been increased by 40% from 27 to 32 inches. In Economy Class, the in-seat screens are 13.3 inches. In Business Class, the screens remain at 23 inches wide.
ice Digital Widescreen now has 2,186 channels of on-demand entertainment and 1,230 music channels contributing to 4,300 hours of entertainment. It includes 50 full TV box sets and almost 600 movies with a multilingual interface in 14 languages.
Other new features on ice includes enhanced handset controllers, USB & HDMI ports and PC power outlets on all seats across the three cabin classes so you can charge your mobile and portable device.
Wi-Fi is offered on more than half of Emirates’ fleet on 142 aircraft. Live TV is offered on 75 aircraft. It has invested US$15 million to offer passengers data connectivity in 2015.
Other product enhancements include new micro fibre optic carpet in First Class, reducing the effects of jet lag, and private suites in the centre aisle have been widened by 1.9 inches.
