Etihad Airways launched non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and Rome Fiumicino Airport on 17 July 2014. The inaugural flight of EY083 from Abu Dhabi carried the airline’s senior delegation while guests on the flight were presented with special commemorative certificates to mark the occasion. Other celebrations included a ribbon cutting ceremony at Rome Airport and a gala reception attended by over 300 dignitaries, government officials, travel agents, tourism representatives and executives from Etihad Airways’ partner airlines.

Abu Dhabi – Rome Flight Schedule

Etihad Airways operates its Airbus A330-200 aircraft featuring 22 fully-flat beds in Business Class and 240 seats in Economy Class. EY083 departs Abu Dhabi at 2.40am and arrives in Rome at 7.10am. The return flight EY084 departs Rome at 12pm and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 7.55pm. The flight schedule offers convenient links to destinations operated by the airline in the Gulf Region, Indian subcontinent, Africa, Asia and Australia. Air Serbia and Etihad Regional connect flights from Rome to European cities including Belgrade, Bolzano, Tirana and Zagreb. Etihad also code shares with Alitalia to domestic and European cities. Alitalia and Etihad Airways will be the Official Global Airline Carriers for Expo 2015 in Milan from 1 May to 31 October 2015.

Flying Etihad Airways Between Singapore and Rome

So if you are flying from Singapore, EY 473 departs Singapore at 8.20pm and arrives at Abu Dhabi at 11.45pm on the Airbus A330-200. After close to a three hour transit in Abu Dhabi, you can continue on your journey on EY83 to Rome. The total journey takes 16 hours 50 minutes. On your return flight from Rome, code share flight on Alitalia EY7064 departs at 9.45pm and arrives at Abu Dhabi at 5.35am the next day. Connect onto EY470 from Abu Dhabi almost 5 hours later back to Singapore arriving at 10.35pm. The return flight from Rome to Singapore does not seem so favourable in terms of flight time (18 hours 50 minutes). Singapore Airlines flies direct from Singapore to Rome operating a Boeing 777-200 aircraft taking 12 hours 40 minutes.
