Etihad Airways and Tourism Malaysia have partnered to boost inbound tourism to Malaysia through a range of joint marketing activities. These activities will be targeting Malaysia’s key inbound visitor markets including the UK, US, Germany, France and Italy and UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.
Tourism Malaysia statistics revealed more than 1.2 million visits from these key markets were received last year.
Tourism Malaysia will participate in Etihad Airways’ pavilion at the Expo Milano 2015 for two weeks and showcase its travel packages and destinations to attendees through multimedia videos, traditional food sampling and Batik painting. This partnership also allows Tourism Malaysia to promote Visit Malaysia Year 2015.
The campaign to promote Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Penang and Sabah will focus on multimedia marketing and familiarisation trips for the travel trade and media from around the world.
Etihad Airways currently flies two times daily between Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur, offering flights to other regions in Malaysia through its codeshare partner Malaysia Airlines.
EY418 and EY416 departs Abu Dhabi at 2.05am and 10.15am respectively and lands in Kuala Lumpur at 1.20pm and 10pm respectively. The flights take 7 hours 30 minutes between the two cities.
The return flights take 7 hours 5 minutes with EY413 and EY411 departing Kuala Lumpur at 2.55am and 8.05pm respectively. EY413 lands in Abu Dhabi at 6.20am while EY411 arrives in Abu Dhabi at 10.50pm.
