Scoot is allowing passengers to use their light portable electronic devices during all phases of flight from 1 September 2014 after the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore’s regulation change. Passengers on board Scoot can use their own devices such as tablets, smartphones, e-readers or mp3 players for preloaded entertainment or streaming from Scoot’s onboard entertainment ScooTV. The larger devices such as laptops must, however, be stowed during taxi, take-off and landing for safety.
Scoot will launch internet connectivity when the Boeing 787 fleet enters service from late 2014.
