Qantas and Bangkok Airways signed a new codeshare agreement with effect from 30 March allowing Qantas customers to book on Bangkok Airways flights from Bangkok and Singapore to six new Thai destinations including Ko Samui, Chiang Mai and Phuket subject to regulatory approval.

The two airlines are working towards a reciprocal agreement that will allow Bangkok Airways customers to book on Qantas International services from Bangkok and Singapore to Australia as well as some of the Qantas domestic routes.

Five routes operated by the boutique airline, Bangkok Airways will be available for booking and travel from 30 March 2014:

  • Singapore – Ko Samui
  • Bangkok – Ko Samui
  • Bangkok – Phuket
  • Bangkok – Chiang Mai
  • Bangkok – Krabi
  • Bangkok – Chiang Rai

Bangkok Airways recently started offering iPad minis as in-flight entertainment at no cost to its Blue Ribbon Class (business class) passengers from 3 March 2014. The Bluebox Avionics supplied iPad minis come equipped with the latest released movies, TV programmes and music as well as interactive games. This service will be available on flights from Bangkok to Maldives, Samui to Hong Kong and Samui to Singapore during the trial run periods.
