Two of Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A380s will feature a special livery to celebrate Singapore’s 50th anniversary. The jumbo jets feature a large 10m tall by 47m long Singapore flag-themed design on both sides of the the fuselage.

The official SG50 logo is emblazoned on the two inboard engines.

 

The first aircraft with the commemorative livery will take to the skies next month. A second A380 with the livery will take off in July. The livery will remain till end of 2015 serving Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New Delhi, Shanghai, Sydney and Zurich routes.

A 1:200 keep sake scale model and a limited-edition 1:100 scale model will be available from KrisShop from July.

The airline is also planning a special A380 Charity Flight on 29 May. Some 300 beneficiaries of Community Chest including children with special needs, adults with disabilities and disadvantaged elderly and families will get to experience a three-hour flight, some of whom have never flow before.

Singapore Airlines has launched special promotions to encourage overseas Singaporeans and visitors to travel to Singapore for the SG50 celebrations. Enjoy a 50% discount from 20 May to 10 July when you redeem your KrisFlyer miles to select destinations for travel within the same period.

50 Economy class air tickets on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir to any Southeast Asian destinations will be given away for customers who book flights to travel from 18 May to 31 July 2015.

Look out for special menus featuring Singapore’s unique cuisine as well as SG50 themed amenity kits on the airline’s new Premium Economy class when it launches on 9 August 2015.
