More than 23,000 United Airlines flight attendants worldwide will receive an iPhone 6 Plus that will connect them with work tools to further enhance the customer experience in the air.
These devices will have the ability to handle most onboard retail transactions and will enable access to company email, united.com and the company’s intranet and policies and procedures manual. Cabin crew can also provide real-time reporting and improved follow-up on aircraft cabin issues and repairs.
The US airline intends to develop a number of customer-focused tools for the device.
United has previously deployed iPads to its pilots in 2011 to create a paperless aircraft and flight deck environment. The iPad Air 2 has been used to renew the iPad pilot programme.
