VietJet Flies Ho Chi Minh – Singapore from 23 May

VietJet will introduce the Singapore – Ho Chi Minh City route from 23 May 2014. The Vietnamese low cost carrier will operate single daily flights between the two cities. The one hour fifty minute flight will be operated on the airline’s A320 aircraft with 30 rows of seats in a 3-3 configuration. The front five rows are premium seats.

VJ8931 departs Ho Chi Minh City at 8.50am and arrives in Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 at 11.40am. The return flight VJ8932 departs Changi Airport Terminal 3 at 12.40pm and arrives in Ho Chi Minh at 1.30pm.

There are three types of fares available from VietJetAir.com or its mobile app on Android and iOS.  The Promo Fare and Eco Fare offers 7kg carry on baggage allowance with chargeable optional services including seat selection, baggage and pre book meal. The Deluxe fare offers you the following freebies:

  • 7kg carry on baggage allowance
  • 20kg check-in baggage allowance
  • Seat Selection
  • Priority Service
  • VIP lounge (VietJet will offer this service at a lounge in Changi Airport Terminal 3)
  • Booking change

Checked in baggage is charged by weight:

  • Up to 15kg – US$15
  • Up to 20kg – US$18
  • Up to 25kg – US$25
  • Up to 30kg – US$30
  • Overweight baggage is charged at US$15 per kg

VietJet currently operates 24 operating routes in the region, 19 domestic routes in Vietnam and five international routes to Thailand, Korea, China, Cambodia and Japan. It will add an additional domestic route in Vietnam and five more international routes including Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China with the fifth city tentatively Korea. It will also add five more domestic and international routes from Thailand operated by its joint venture ThaiVietJet. The airline aims to operate a fleet of 100 aircraft within 10 years from its inception in 2011. The airline has worked closely with Airbus for aviation safety standards and airline partners such as Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines for aircraft maintenance and technique consultation.
