Iman Fandi Releases Debut Music Video “Timeframe”

Iman Fandi, the 20 year old model, actor, athelete and now singer-songwriter daughter of Fandi Ahmad, has launched a new official music video for ‘Timeframe”.

Her debut single is written by her, produced by Singaporean hip-hop luminary Flightsch and mixed by 13-time Grammy-winning engineer John Hanes. Hanes has worked with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey.

The music video gives you insight into the psyche of Iman. in one of the scenes, Iman Fandi consumers a chocolate bar and teleports to the realm of self-actualisation. In her own uninhibited world, away from the prying public eye, she revels in her individuality.

When I go through experiences, I record them in my head like in a diary. With this, “Timeframe” is about “never being able to have someone close to you for long enough. I travel and I meet new people, but I don’t always see them again. The idea [behind the song] is a wish that that person and you could be in the same place at the same time”.

Iman Fandi reveals of her songwriting process.

The extended cut of the official music video made its premiere exclusively on Mediacorp Channel 5 at 8.18 pm and on YouTube at 10 pm on 19 February 2021.

LYRICS

In this car, I sit alone
Wishin you’d wait for me back at home
But You knew i had to go
Oh You knew i had to go

I see myself in the window screen
My reflection staring back at me
As the sun fades into my eyes
Into my eyes

Lets find a place that we can go
A place that we know nobody would ever know
Paris Milan London Melbourne or Spain
I wish upon a star that we on the same time frame baby
Time frame
Time frame baby baby
Time frame

But I’m stuck in this car without you
Alone in this car and I cannot move
Knew From the start I’d be (driving away x3)
from you

in this car without you
Gone too far, were we all fools
Knew from the start I’d be (driving away x3)
From you

Wishin you would tell me to stay
But in this car I’m driving away
Don’t let the miles between us keep our love apart
Just listen close and you’ll hear my beating heart

Baby don’t forget its only Tuesday.
-Imma hit you up when the hours change,
If Its not too late
If Its not too late

Lets find a place that we can go
A place that we know nobody would ever know
Paris, Milan, London, Melbourne or Spain
wish upon a star that we on the same -time frame baby

But I’m stuck in this car without you
Alone in this car and I cannot move
Knew From the start I’d be (driving away x3)
from you

In this car without you
Alone in this car and I cannot move
Knew from the start I’d be (driving away x3)
From you
Time Frame baby
Time Frame
Time Frame baby baby

Earlier this month, Universal Music Singapore announced Iman Fandi as their newest artist.

“The main reason I write and release music is so that people will know they’re not alone in feeling a certain way. I want to be better. I also want to branch out and explore territories outside of Asia. I love experimenting and trying new things and I feel that being signed to the biggest label in the world will push me to do my very best – and more.”

Iman Fandi

Music has always been a love of hers and her foray into the industry is a coming of age of sorts for the talented songwriter. Born of R&B and bred on Pop, the artist draws inspiration from singers spanning from Sam Smith to The Weeknd. With such width of musical palate, there is much to be expected from this songwriter’s repertoire to come. 2021 is Iman’s year and music is yet another industry the artiste will take by storm.

“Once in a while, a star comes along whose qualities cannot be compressed into a few words. Iman Fandi is that star. She is literally born to be the voice of her generation”.

Simon Jerome Nasser, Managing Director of Universal Music Singapore
