In the Ether: A Festival of Quantum Science and Technology at ArtScience Museum
6 September – 31 October

In the Ether: A Festival of Quantum Science and Technology, celebrates a century of quantum mechanics—a field that continues to revolutionise our understanding of the world and shape the technologies that define our future.
As part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, this festival invites visitors to explore the invisible rules that govern our world through a series of installations, performances, talks, and education programmes.
Situated across the museum, scientific concepts come alive through poetic and tangible experiences inspired by physics, quantum research and technology. Interact with experiments and activities that explain core principles and reveal the inner working of devices such as quantum computers and quantum communication satellites.
| Quantum Conversations: It’s Here, There and Everywhere 20 September ArtScience Cinema, Level 4 Timing: 2pm to 4pm Ticketed Admission Quantum Conversations – It’s Here, There and Everywhere features a line-up of speakers who are actively exploring the quantum realm. Participants will be able to learn more about its role in the intersection of art, science and technology, discover quantum applications in their daily lives, as well as explore possible career opportunities in the field. | |
| In the Ether Walk-in Activities From 8 September ArtScience Laboratory, Basement 2 Timing:11am to 7pm Complimentary Admission From 8 September, young visitors and curious minds alike can drop by ArtScience Laboratory to enjoy complimentary daily walk-in activities designed to make quantum science both accessible and enjoyable through a series of playful recreations. Let’s Learn Quantum Principles with Games reimagines classic games like chess and tic-tac-toe by weaving in quantum physics principles, while Let’s Learn Particle Physics with LEGO incorporates hands-on building for participants to explore the structure of atoms. | |
| | Quantum on Film 1 September to 31 October ArtScience Cinema, Level 4 Complimentary & Ticketed Admission Available Quantum on Film is a screening programme that draws upon the mysterious world of quantum mechanics—a field that challenges classical physics and suggests our reality may be far more unpredictable, non-linear, and even mystical than we imagine. Created by artists, filmmakers and researchers, these moving image works examine how reality, shaped by invisible connections, unfolds in strange ways through the quantum lens.
