
The annual Canon PhotoMarathon 2014 started with registration at 7am this morning and concluded this evening at 9pm with 31 year old Mayu Sato walking away the Best of Show open category and 22 year old Tsun Hao Hu winning the student category. The Best of Show winners walked away with an all expenses paid trip to Japan for a photo clinic while the other category winners won Canon products including the EOS 7D Mk II, EOS 100D or EOS 700D amongst other prizes.

This year over 2,500 participants took part in this competition. 25 participants from the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN) took part in the open category.
A new Corporate Challenge category was introduced where three or more individuals from any organisation formed teams to participate. The team with the highest total combined score of the photographs submitted won this category. The winner of the Corporate Challenge Category went to Integrated DNA Technologies Pte Ltd.
The Schools Challenge category winner is Nan Chiau High School.
Besides the photo competition, participants could print their photos, clean their lenses and take part in a lucky draw.
