After two sold-out runs of Por Por’s Big Fat Surprise Wedding, Singapore Repertory Theatre is back—and this time, they’re firing up the wok. Fried Rice Paradise – The Makan Party is the ultimate dinner theatre throwdown, where two sisters stir up drama (and dinner) in a bid to inherit their mum Bee Lean’s legendary fried rice empire.
You won’t just be watching. You’ll be eating and judging too. Expect a four-course feast of local flavours, a playlist of Dick Lee’s classics like Bunga Sayang and Mustapha, and a whole lot of saucy sibling rivalry. With Danny Yeo directing and Thomas Lim serving up the script, this one’s part musical, part makan, and all heart.
Fried Rice Paradise – The Makan Party stars Serene Chen, Ching Shu Yi, Natalie Yeap, Shrey Bhargava, Rafaat Haji Hamzah and Audrey Luo.
You won’t just sit there politely either. You’ll cast your vote in a fiery family feud to decide who inherits Mum’s legendary fried rice legacy. With Singapore’s rich culture bubbling through every bite and beat, all of it unfolds in the newly revamped Merchant Court Ballroom at Paradox Singapore, where heritage meets hotel chic.

“For the past 15 years, I’ve been developing experiential theatre where the audience is an integral part of the production, and this show continues an intentional and effortful exploration. I’m familiar with Dick’s songs and I’ve admired Thomas Lim’s scripts, so this is a really exciting collaboration for me.”
Danny Yeo, Director
