Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Mi Pad 2 & Mi Air Purifier 2 Announced

Xiaomi has been rapidly increasing their product portfolio since they debut in 2010. Yesterday they launched Redmi Note 3, Mi Pad 2 and Mi Air Purifier 2. These new devices will be available in China from this Friday, 27 November 2015.

Redmi Note 3, is Xiaomi’s first-ever smartphone with a fingerprint sensor in sleek full metal body. Mi Pad 2 incorporates an Intel processor in Android 5.1 or Windows 10 OS. The Mi Air Purifier 2 is a smaller and more cost-effective version of the popular Mi Air Purifier. The release dates for these devices in Singapore have yet to be announced.

 

Redmi Note 3

Redmi Note 3 is powered by the same flagship MTK Helio X10 Octa-core 64-bit processor as Redmi Note 2, and is beautifully constructed with a full metal body in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey. The fingerprint sensor, which comes with Trustonic TEE chip-level fingerprint security, unlocks the device in just 0.3 seconds and makes it extremely convenient for payment through Mi Wallet.

Along with a 5.5″ Full HD display and Sunlight Display optimises screen clarity even in bright conditions. Redmi Note 3 also comes with a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and Two-tone flash,  as well as a 5MP front camera for selfies.

Redmi Note 3 also packs a powerful 690Wh/L high-density 4000mAh battery that supports 5V/2A fast charging. Redmi Note 3 retails at RMB 899 (about S$198) for the version with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage version will go for RMB 1099 (about S$242).

 

Mi Pad 2

Along with a new all-metal construction, Mi Pad 2 is powered by the 64-bit Intel Atom X5-Z8500
processor. It has a 7.9-inch IPS display, 8-megapixel rear camera, and is equipped with a large
6190mAh battery which supports 5V/2A fast charging. Mi Pad 2 runs on MIUI 7 (Android 5.1) or
Windows 10.

Mi Pad 2 available in Dark Grey and Gold, retails at RMB 999 (about S$220) for the MIUI 7 version with 16GB storage, or RMB 1299 (about S$286) for the 64GB version. The Windows 10 version will be available only with 64GB storage, and will go on sale in late December for RMB 1299 (about S$286) .

 

Mi Air Purifier 2

Compared with Mi Air Purifier 1, Mi Air Purifier 2 is 40% smaller, quieter and more power efficient. It remains extremely powerful, and retails for just RMB 699 (about S$154). The standard filter is priced at RMB 149 (about S$33) , while the enhanced filter costs RMB 169 (about S$38).

Mi Air Purifier 2 comes with a new single-motor, dual fan design, giving it a 40% smaller body than Mi Air Purifier 1, which has a dual-motor design. Mi Air Purifier 2’s CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) remains high at 330m³/h in standard mode and goes up to 388m³/h in Active mode. It can effectively clean the air in a 23m2 room in just 10 minutes.

With optimizations in the motor design, Mi Air Purifier 2 is now quieter — as low as 30db in Night mode, and 58% more power efficient than Mi Air Purifier 1.
