Etihad Airways’ loyalty programme Etihad Guest introduces a new Visa-powered payment feature called walletplus.
With walletplus, Etihad Guest members can load travel money onto their membership card and convert it to 11 different foreign currencies to spend anywhere in the world. You can load your card in advance so you do not need to exchange or transfer funds at a bank or foreign exchange.
The card can hold up to a maximum of 11 currencies including UAE Dirham, Singapore Dollar, US Dollar, Sterling Pound, Australian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Japanese Yen, Thai Baht, Indian Rupee and Canadian Dollar.
To check your account balance and transaction history, transfer money to other Etihad Guest members or report a lost or stolen card, you have to download the walletplus mobile application available on iOS and Android.
Etihad Guest has partnered with Rêv Worldwide multi-currency prepaid processor, to develop the product on Rêv’s proprietary prepaid multi-currency processing platform.
You earn one Etihad Guest Mile per US$2 spent in UAE and one Etihad Guest Mile per US$1 spent abroad when paying with walletplus.
Etihad Guest Tier members in the UAE will begin receiving their new Etihad Guest card with walletplus in early March 2015. Roll out of card to Etihad Guest members in other countries will take place in the future.
