Sony World Photography Awards 2012 Closes 4 January

15 December 2011, Singapore – Photo enthusiasts, hurry!! Call for entries for the Sony World Photography 2012 closes on 4 January 2012.

There are 4 types of awards for participants:

• Professional – entries from world’s leading photographers and ‘serious enthusiasts’
• Open – anyone who is interested in photography
• Youth – for photographers under 20 years
• Moving Image Awards – featuring new categories such as Nature and Wildlife, People, Extraordinary/Ordinary, Commercial, Fine Art and Documentary

Winners will be presented with trophies at a ceremony in London in late April 2012.

The winner of the L’Iris D’Or Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year Award will aslo be revealed and presented with US$25,000 plus Sony digital SLR camera equipment. The overall Open competition winner will receive US$5,000 plus Sony digital SLR camera equipment.

All competitions are free to enter and all images submitted have to be shot in 2011. Photographers can only enter either the Professional or Open competition and not both.
