Movie Review: The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises

19 July 2012, Singapore – The Dark Knight Rises is the last installment to conclude Director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Like what Nolan does best in “Batman Begins” & “The Dark Knight”, you will appreciate the DARK side of the story in “The Dark Knight Rises”.   The Dark Knight Rises evokes some soul searching with scenes graying the lines of justice.  What is seemingly righteous may bring misery to others, while some tries hard to keep alive while others sacrifice their life for their believes.

Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy is not a cheap flick, shallow superhero movie, it is a series that comes with many layers of emotions that tickles my mind to think what I would have do should I be in their place. With many links back to the story lines from “Batman Begins” & “The Dark Knight”, The Dark Knight Rises gives a beautiful conclusion to the trilogy. Fear not if you have not watched the previous installments, you will still enjoy the movie but after the movie you may rush off to the video store to grab the DVDs to complete your experience.

Anne Hathaway’s sexy slithering moves in The Dark Knight Rises is a contrast to her role in Princess Diaries and Bride Wars.  The 29 year old actress does make the Batman bike look sexier with a curvy booty tooch.

The Dark Knight Rises starts off with a slow plot but builds up to an exciting end with unexpected twists.

I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon Levitt.
