2 October 2012, Singapore – The Black and White movement, a public education movement to help raise awareness and support for the endangered giant panda by Chengdu Pambassador kicks off 13 October 2012 with a concert and fashion show “The Panda Rock Out”.    Admission will be limited to the first 3,000 adults who show up in black and white at Sentosa Wavehouse.

Headlining the event is Cher Lloyd who is famous for her number one debut single “Swagger Jagger” and appearance on Britain’s version of The X Factor.  Other artistes performing include singer and songwriter Juliet Simms, DJ Enferno, DJ Daniel Yeo and The Great Spy Experiment.

There will also be an exclusive black and white fashion show by Singaporean designers DEPRESSION and Dresstronomy.

The Panda Rock Out coincides with the opening of the Chengdu Pambassador semi-finals for the greater Asia-Pacific region where 24 individuals from around the region will compete in the semi-finals in their bid to become a Chengdu Pambassador and participate in the “Global Panda Protection Tour” next year.  This competition is organised by the Chengdu Panda Base and co-organised by WildAid and Yao Ming Foundation.

Retail and corporate partners have also jumped onto the bandwagon to spread the word about panda conservation.  7-Eleven will introduce a 16oz limited edition panda cup at the event and host in-store promotions in Singapore from 3 October 2012.
