1 July 2012, Singapore – Last Friday, SK-II launched their men’s range at Avalon in Singapore.   Gracing the event were SK-II personalities Sheila Sim and host for the night Utt as well as SK-II MEN’s latest Ambassador and acclaimed Taiwanese-Canadian actor and model Godfrey Gao.

For those of you not familiar with Godfrey Gao, he is known for his role in Taiwanese dramas such as Volleyball Lover (2010) and Momo Love (2009) amongst many others.  He also fronted Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2011 Ready-to-Wear campaign and is making waves on the global fashion scene.    Godfrey was in Singapore last year for the Louis Vuitton Island Maison opening as well as the inaugural Women’s Fashion Week held at Marina Bay Sands.  Godfrey has previously graced covers of Singapore’s men’s magazines including Men’s Folio and Nanyou.

Godfrey was selected as the newest celebrity ambassador for SK-II MEN because he is a firm advocate in skin as the new measure of a man and he practices his commitment to skincare by walking the talk with SK-II.

The much anticipated and inaugural men’s prestige skincare range SK-II MEN finally hits the shores of Singapore.  The iconic Facial Treatment Essence contains 90 per cent Pitera which transforms your skin to vibrant clear in just 14 days.  Two other products accompany the Facial Treatment Essence – SK-II Men Moisturising Cleanser and Age Revitalise Moisturiser.  These products will be available exclusively at Isetan counters at Scotts, Tampines, Katong and Serangoon from today and the entire line-up will be available at selected SK-II counters in leading retailers from 1 August onwards.

SK-II did a study on 200 Korean women aged between 20 to 49 and found out that women are drawn to men with good skin complexions.  9 out of 10 women are attracted to men with good skin and want their partners to maintain good.   The same number have been disappointed with a man’s bad skin condition in spite of how-dressed he may be.  More than 8 in 10 also agreed that successful men are taking care of their skin behind closed doors.

In November 2010, SK-II scientists deep dived into finding out the biological behaviour and inner workings of men’s physical differences in the skin surface.  Comparing the skin of men and women, SK-II found that men have

  • Higher sebum secretion levels –  oilier skin and prone to clogged pores, breakouts and the onset of ageing signs. Sebum secretion levels typically start increasing from their 30s and continue to do so throughout their lifespan.
