23 March 2011, McLean, Virginia, USA – Hilton Worldwide today made an initial donation of US$75,000 for the relief efforts for survivors of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. In addition, Hilton has also initiated matching gifts programmes for both its team members and guests who are members of the Hilton HHonors programme, through which donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to an additional US$350,000.   The goal is to raise over US$750,000 to support disaster relief and humanitarian organizations, including American Red Cross, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), International Medical Corps, Mercy Corps and Save the Children.

If you are a member of Hilton HHonors loyalty programme, you can donate points to the IFRC’s Disaster Relief Emergency Fund through this link.

A fund to support team members and their families impacted by the recent events in Japan has also been set up by Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV).  The company’s timeshare business includes more than 30,000 owners from Japan.
