Peter Pan is in Singapore now till 20 January 2015. No. We are not talking about Hugh Jackman from director Joe Wright’s upcoming live-action Peter Pan Feature film which will only be on screens next July.

Peter Pan, The Never Ending Story made its Asian Premiere at the Resorts World Sentosa yesterday 27 November 2014. The theatrical production arrived from its European tour and features an entertaining time of visual effects and familiar famous musical tunes. J.M. Barrie’s tale of Peter Pan is brought to life with acrobatics, larger-than-life animals and amazing vocals by the two leads Dutch Sandor Stürbl who plays Peter Pan and newly-wed wife Lilly-Jane Young who plays Wendy.

Keep a look out for the larger-than-life animals. The dog reminds me of lion dance, while the alligator could eat up a whole row of people at the Resorts World Theatre. The parrot is just too cute.

Tunes that I couldn’t help sing quietly to myself last night the chorus from Alphaville’s Forever Young – “Forever Young, I want to be Forever Young. Do you really want to live forever? Forever Young”. Shirley Bassey’s Almost There, Josh Groban/Westlife’s You Raise Me Up, Seal’s Kiss from a Rose, Randy Crawford/Nicole Kidman’s One Day I’ll Fly Away or Rod Stewart’s I Am Sailing are just some of the many familiar tunes.
