The new Sony Walkman NWZ E450 preview at Scape

Sony Electronics Asia Pacific launches the new feature-packed Walkman NWZ-E450 video MP3 player. It comes in five bright pop colours – gold, pink, blue, red and black and delivers 50 hours of continuous music playback and 10 hours of video playback time on a single charge. Of course there’s a caveat to this 50 hours which is indicated in the press release. The music playback is approximate in MP3 128kbps when all of the equalizers are set to “None” and the screensaver is “On”.

Being used to iTunes data and music transfer to my iPhone from my MacBook, I am glad that this MP3 player can sync with Windows Media Player or iTunes 9.0. With Sony’s 12 Tone Analysis technology, The new SensMe channels let the Walkman act as a personal DJ, analysing the music library to find songs that go well together and then categorizing them into various SensMe channel so that you can listen to music that matches your mood.

Five of Sony’s proprietary sound technologies have been included in the NWZ-E450, for crisp and clear sound quality. An audio bandwidth enhancement technology known as Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) is integrated to restores high frequencies that is usually lost when original CD-quality audio tracks are compressed in MP3 format. This creates more natural tones that stay true to the original recording. The new Virtual Phones Technology (VPT) engine adds the acoustic effect of varying spaces, from an intimate studio setting to that of a large arena, allowing you to enjoy the raw, acoustic effects in the music with finer audio detail. There is also a Clear Audio Technologies (Clear Bass and Clear Stereo), as well as Dynamic Normalizer, delivering true-to-recording audio quality.

With an improved user interface, it will be easier for you to navigate and enjoy music and videos. You get a larger view of album artwork on the 2.0-inch QVGA LCD screen. Anyway, I will be playing around with my set the next week or two and look out for my personal review then.
