Cath Kidston Singapore finally opens a 550 square foot store at B2-48 ION Orchard today. The London-born global lifestyle brand is also celebrating its 20th birthday and will give away S$20 vouchers to the first 200 shoppers on opening day today.

Cath Kidston worked for Laura Ashley dressing the windows at the age of 21 when she was in Art school and alkso tried starting her own business then. In 1984, Cath worked as an assistant to designer Nicholas Haslam where she learned to trade and work with him for three years and gained confidence in her own creative abilities. Cath co-founded the interior design and “curtainalia” McKinney-Kidston specialising in window solutions and decorating private homes. After five years, she sold her share in the business and set up her own. In 1993 at aged 34, Cath Kidston opened her first ‘Cath Kidston’ shop with just £15,000 in London’s Notting Hill selling vintage fabrics, wallpapers and brightly-painted junk furniture inspired by fond memories from her childhood.
Inspired by nostalgia and Cath’s own childhood in the English countryside, Cath Kidston products appear in vintage inspired prints in modern colours transforming every day products to very pretty items. The collection include accessories, stationery, home-wear, women’s clothing, kids and bathroom products.
The Fall Winter 2013 collection debuts in-store at Cath Kidston Singapore introducing new prints such as the Garden Birds, Mushroom and The Wild Pony.
Norbreeze Group will open another Cath Kidston Singapore store at TANGS Orchard next month.
