Nami Restaurant and Bar at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore has launched a dashi-centric executive lunch with three different sets. Chef Shigeo has prepared eight different types of dashi in-house, using age-old complex methods he learned from Dashi Master Masami Honda. The highlight of the set menu is the Nami Special GozenThe set features dashi-flavoured chawanmushi topped with crab meat and filled with a mochi, assorted tempura with warm dashi dipping sauce, pan-fried beef marinated with special-dashi-based sauce, dashi-flavoured steamed rice with seasonal Hokkaido corn, dashi-based miso soup and pickles. End of the meal with a choice of flavoured ice-cream.

If you prefer to have noodles for lunch, there are the Tempura Udon Gozen or Tempura Soba Gozen. Noodles can be enjoyed chilled or warm soup wtih poached egg, wakame and shimeji mushrooms, or paired with dipping sauces made from niban dashi. The Udon comes with added urume (sardine) dashi and the soba comes with saba (mackerel) dashi. Each of the noodle set comes with seasonal appetisers, chawanmushi and assorted tempura.

Nami Executive Set Lunch is priced at S$35++ per set from Monday to Saturday, 12 pm to 2 pm, excluding public holidays.

Two Michelin-starred Waku Jin by Tetsuya Wakuda will be launching a new five-course executive lunch every Friday from 7 September 2018 featuring four savoury dishes including the Pasta with Botan Shrimp, Oscietra Caviar and creamy Murasaki Uni from Hokkaido and a dessert. The brand new executive lunch will cost you S$180++.

In the month of October, an exclusive five-course dessert menu priced at S$68++ will be made available on all Sundays and Mondays at The Bar at Waku Ghin. The menu by Executive Pastry Chef Yasushi Ishino features five new and exclusive plated creations which are light on the palate with the perfect balance of texture and flavours.

Restaurant Ibid launches a new lunch menu after a successful launch of the inaugural dinner tasting menu in May this year. Highlights include the Shao Bing Burger (S$14++) which features a juicy beef patty, sandwiched between melt-in mozzarella cheese and pickled green chilli. Fans of Thunder Tea Rice can indulge in the Thunder Tea Rice Porridge (S$14++). This dish contains Japanese brown rice cooked with kombu dashi, finished with a traditional paste of green tea, basil, mint and coriander, topped with pan-fried black grouper. Pork Rib Rice (S$14++) features Iberico pork ribs braised in a mixture of soy and spices served on top of buttered rice with fried okra, soft boiled egg and ginger marinated cucumbers.

Sharing small plates include the Cumin Spiced Fried Baby Potatoes with Garlic Aioli, Marinated Tomatoes, Xiao Cai and General Soh’s Fried Chicken. These are also available a la carte at S$8++ each.

The three desserts are brown butter semolina cake with sesame oil ice cream, chocolate-tofu mousse with hibiscus and acai and yuan yang pudding.

Restaurant Ibid’s lunch menu is available from Wednesdays to Fridays from 12 pm to 2 pm. The two-course lunch menu comprises a small plate + big plate or big plate + dessert is priced at S$18++. The three-course lunch menu of a small plate + big plate + dessert is priced at S$25++.

ATLAS Alsace Executive Lunch Set

Executive Chef Daniele Sperindio of ATLAS is offering eight new dishes for the ATLAS Executive Lunch drawing inspiration from Alsace, a historical region in north-eastern France on the Rhine River plain. Highlights from this new menu include crayfish soup with cognac and crème fraîche for starters, späetzle egg noodles tossed in buttermilk and spinach for mains, and a griottines cherry and bitter chocolate soufflé for dessert.

Choose between two or three courses with the option of wine pairings. The lunch menu is available from 12 pm to 2.30 pm from Mondays to Fridays. Prices start from S$38 for two courses or S$48 for a full three-course meal. Wine pairing comes at an additional cost of S$24 for two-courses or S$30 for three.

If you are in Orchard Road, you’ll want to head over to Mitzo at Grand Park Orchard. Enjoy a three- or four- course dim sum set lunch at S$28++ and S$38++ respectively. The three-course dim sum set lunch features a double-boiled soup of the day, two pieces from a choice of three items of dim sum and dessert of the day. The four-course dim sum set lunch comes with a doubled-boiled abalone soup of the day, 2 pieces from a selection of three dim sums, dry-style thin noodles with prawn dumplings & signature Mitzo barbequed pork or porridge with lobster claw, fish and pork and a dessert combination of the day.

PORTA Set Lunches at Under S$30

Porta at Park Hotel Clarke Quay launches a new set lunch menu from 4 September 2018. A two-course set lunch is priced at S$18 and three-course at S$22. Wine by the glass is priced at S$7 per glass and Coffee and Tea supplement at S$3 per order.

Choose from a selection of appetisers like the soup of the day, BLT salad, charred aubergine or add S$8 for the Burratina. For the mains, you can select from bolognese spaghetti with fresh basil, oregano, minced beef with tomato sauce; red snapper with saute baby spinach, wild puff rice and saffron sauce; confit chicken leg with taro puree, roasted vegetables and red wine sauce or add S$12 for the Australian lamb rack with rosemary, confit garlic marinated lamb rack, truffle mash potato, asparagus and red wine. For desserts, go for the cake of the day or lemon tart or a chocolate sundae.
