Canon Legria HF G10: Small and Convenient Camcorder

Posted by

March 2011, Singapore – Canon Singapore introduced a full 2011 range of 8 new Canon Legria Camcorders, covering from Standard Video to Full HD for amateurs to professionals.

Depending on your needs, there is one right Camcorder that fits you and your budget. Amongst them all, Canon Legria HF 1o got my attention, due to the small package of this camcorder (at only 545g and lighter than an iPad 2) and comes with full manual controls that are catered for both the professional videographer and the “hobbyist going pro”.

Canon Legria HF G1o uses the 2.07 MP HD CMOS Pro sensor – designed and made for professional camcorders to capture videos in Full HD at native 1920×1080 resolution. The light gathering area of the pixels is also 160% greater than a conventional CMOS, for wider dynamic range and performs well in low-light conditions (no more dark and super grainy night-shot videos).

It also uses a 30.4mm Canon HD video lens for you to capture crisp & clear videos in wide angle. With aperture at f1.8 and a focus ring for manual adjustments, taking videos with natural looking defocus effect will make amateurs look pro (do check out the video link below and you will know what i mean).

The camcorder is equipped with 32GB of internal memory (for over 12 hours of recording) and it also comes with 2 additional SDXC card slots that gives you extra memory space for all those long vacation trips. In-camera HD-SD conversion lets you down-convert your movies to standard definition, ready for uploading and sharing with friends and families via the web casting. For those who have concerns that this camcorder may be too PRO for you, the HF G10 does comes with automatic functions, like Face Detection & Smart Auto Mode that helps in your journey from amateur to becoming a professional videographer.
