This strategic move is part of MAG’s long-term network optimisation plan to enhance operational efficiency and ensure sustainable operations for Firefly’s jet services. Lufthansa has been an integral part of Singapore’s aviation landscape since its first flight to the Lion City in 1965. This coincides with Singapore’s own 60th anniversary, making this milestone even more special.

The airline has provided seamless travel and contributed to Singapore’s role as a key global hub. The airline has offered passengers from Singapore direct connections to major European cities and beyond.

Lufthansa Group has a strong partnership and Joint Venture with Singapore Airlines. From 1 September 2025, the most attractive Economy Class fares including booking classes K/L/T/S will be available exclusively via New Distribution Capability (NDC) or direct channels. This move includes all Lufthansa Group fares from Singapore to the Joint Venture home markets of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.

SWISS First Grand Suite

SWISS is taking its premium cabin experience up a notch with the launch of the First Grand Suite, a new addition under its SWISS Senses concept. The design merges two First Class suites into one expansive, private space with walls over 1.8 metres high. This versatile suite can be set up as a bedroom, office or even a meeting room, offering travellers full flexibility and customisation.

The First Grand Suite will debut on SWISS’s new Airbus A350 fleet and progressively on refurbished Airbus A330s from early 2026, with Boeing 777s to follow later. It joins the airline’s existing First Class line-up, which includes the window-side Single Suite and the central Suite Plus, the latter accommodating two passengers travelling together.

Exclusivity is key: the First Grand Suite can only be booked via the dedicated SWISS First hotline and concierge, and is available for up to three guests.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) is elevating its in-flight wine list this October with an exclusive pour of Harlan Estate Napa Valley 2014 on select First Class routes. For one month only, passengers flying from Tokyo Haneda to London (NH211, NH212) and New York (NH160, NH159, NH110, NH109) will have the rare chance to savour one of California’s most coveted wines.

Harlan Estate is celebrated worldwide for its limited production, near-mythical scarcity, and consistent critical acclaim. The 2014 vintage is especially prized, praised as a “balanced vintage” that marries elegance, structure and ageing potential in a way that appeals equally to collectors and connoisseurs.

Cathay Pacific Redesigns lounge experience at Beijing Capital International Airport

Cathay Pacific has unveiled a new lounge in Beijing Capital International Airport, designed to feel more like a refined home than a transit space. The architecture utilises natural light and views through the careful placement of roofs and windows, while the interiors feature warm cherry wood and limestone, adding a residential touch.

On arrival, guests are greeted at a podium-style reception rather than a traditional counter, a design shift first introduced at The Bridge lounge in Hong Kong. The Beijing lounge is also the first outside Cathay’s home base to feature Lounge Ambassadors, offering a more personal welcome.

The Main Lounge is intimate, with designer furniture and lighting arranged to create a discreet and relaxing atmosphere. For dining, the options are wide-ranging: the iconic Noodle Bar serves Cathay’s signature wonton and dan dan noodles alongside Beijing classics like zhajiangmian; the Food Hall offers a global mix of hot dishes, salads and baked goods; and, for the first time outside Hong Kong, a Teahouse highlights premium Chinese teas brewed to order.

Travellers looking to unwind can head to The Terrace, an airy verandah featuring Cathay’s bespoke Solo Chairs, while art lovers will find an eclectic collection of contemporary pieces curated in collaboration with the minds behind the airline’s Gallery in the Skies project.
