Lion Group Expands at Changi Airport with New Malaysia Routes and T4 Move

Lion Group is strengthening its position at Changi Airport with fresh connectivity and a strategic relocation to Terminal 4 (T4) from November 2025. Batik Air Malaysia will launch new services from Singapore to Ipoh, Penang and Subang starting December 2025. This is in addition to the airline’s four daily flights to Kuala Lumpur. Together with Batik Air Indonesia and Thai Lion Air, the group currently operates 88 weekly flights linking Singapore to Jakarta, Denpasar, Medan, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

Changi Airport T4 Move Supports Growth

With passenger numbers climbing steadily, Lion Group’s relocation from Terminal 3 to T4 will provide capacity for expansion. The terminal can handle up to 16 million passengers annually and is fully equipped with FAST, Changi’s automated check-in to boarding system.

Changi Airport Group (CAG) is working closely with the airline group to ensure a smooth transition. Once the move is completed, 20 airlines, including both full-service and low-cost carriers, will operate at T4.

Connectivity Boost

CAG’s Executive Vice President of Air Hub and Cargo Development, Mr Lim Ching Kiat, highlighted that Batik Air’s new routes will increase services from Singapore to Malaysia to over 460 weekly flights, reinforcing Malaysia’s position as one of Changi’s top markets.

Lion Group President Director Capt. Daniel Putut noted that the move to T4 will elevate the passenger experience with faster processes and a modern terminal environment. Batik Air Malaysia’s CEO Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy added that the new services support Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and expand seamless travel choices.

What to Expect at T4

Travellers can enjoy refreshed retail and dining options at T4, including Adidas, specialty coffee brand ZUS, and F&B outlets like Roost, Papparich and GO Noodle House. Shuttle bus connections between T4 and other terminals will also run every five minutes from November 2025, making transfers faster and more convenient.

With the move and new flights, Lion Group is set to play a bigger role in regional travel while offering Singapore travellers more choices to explore Malaysia and beyond.
