Yesterday, Qatar Airways took delivery of its first Airbus A380 from the Airbus Factory in Hamburg. It expects to receive another three more out of the ten it ordered before the year ends. The airline will start flying the A380 between Doha and London next month.
Qatar Airways has completely designed every element of the A380 giving it a signature touch that has never been seen before on board. The new Hamad International Airport which opened this year is ready to accept the A380 with five contact gates dedicated only for this aircraft.
The Qatar Airways A380 has a capacity of 517 seats with eight in First, 48 in Business and 461 in Economy. In First, the seats feature a 90-inch pitch with a fully flat bed while Business class seats feature a pitch of 52 inches with full flat beds. In Economy, the seats have a pitch of 32 inches in a 10-seats across layout.
