27 August 2012, Singapore – English sitcom actress, Radio DJ, business owner, President of One (SINGAPORE) and friend Vernetta Lopez launches her first book today. Aptly titled “Memoirs of a DJ, Life in Progress”, Vernetta shares candid insights into her life. The book reflects her funny and fun loving personality with some chapters detailing her sensitive and somewhat frail side that is most of the time hidden from the limelight of being a public personality.
If you have not heard of Vernetta Lopez, where have you been? Known for her role in Under One Roof as Denise or part of the Morning Express crew on Class 95FM together with the Flying Dutchman and Glenn Ong, Vernetta has also hosted a number of events as well as voiced-over a number of documentaries and corporate videos.
“Memoirs of a DJ” is a light-hearted read. The situations in the book are so real you could almost feel yourself in them with Vernetta. Vernetta pours out her story about getting her first gig, ghostly encounters in the office, why being on radio is so much better than on tv, her dates and what “spooning” should not be as well as what went through her life during her failed first marriage. Look out for those interesting and funny lists in the book. I could not help but laugh hysterically when going through them.
“Memoirs of a DJ” by Vernetta Lopez (published by Marshall Cavendish) is available from today at S$18.60 excluding GST.
