5 February 2013, Singapore – Local actress, host & film director, Michelle Chong’s latest film production “3 Peas in a Pod” will be filmed in Victoria and South Australia, where fresh face Jae Liew will be co-starring with Taiwanese singer & actor Calvin Chen of Fahrenheit, and former U-Kiss (K-Pop boy group) member Alexander Lee Eusebio. “3 Peas in a Pod”, a S$1.7 million production will tell a story of three university friends from Taiwan, Korea and Singapore who go on a road trip in Australia that will change their lives forever.

Jae Liew was cast from a two-day audition held at Marina Bay Sands recently which attracted over 800 girls auditioning for the lead actress role. Jae Liew’s attractive, girl-next-door looks, coupled with her fluent English and Mandarin as well as her stellar delivery of the script made an impression on the judges which included Michelle Chong.

“I was quite certain that I had found my female lead after meeting Jae. There was something about her bubbly personality that stuck with me throughout the auditions. Her ability to deliver the lines were truly outstanding for someone who has never had any acting experience before,” said Michelle Chong who also shortlisted a few more candidates before picking the eventual winner.

Other than her talent in acting, Jae Liew also have the grooves being a member of local K-Pop dance group called Beyond Infinity. See their dance cover of After School’s Flashback in the video below:

Jae graduated from Murdoch University and lived in Melbourne before so she is no stranger to the gorgeous scenery of Australia. When told she would be returning for the filming, Jae responded, “I’m absolutely psyched about going back to Australia! It really is like going home for me. With all the great food and friendly people, it is an awesome country and there’s nothing quite like Australia. I cannot wait to go back to make more memories and friends.”

Filming for “3 Peas in a Pod” will take place in March where the cast and crew are expected to visit some of the most spectacular scenery that Australia has to offer. Slated for release later this year, the movie is produced by Huat Films and will be Michelle Chong’s second film following her success with “Already Famous”.
