AFAVERSE – a multiverse of fun and excitement

This year’s theme AFAVERSE will feature a multiverse of fun and excitement for all Animation, Comics and Games fans and Japanese popular culture enthusiasts. For the first time, visitors will enjoy a game-like experience from the moment they step into the festival grounds. Gamified elements will be incorporated into dedicated festival zones, which will range from anime and gaming experiences direct from Japan to an experienced AFA Creators Hub, a platform for local creatives to showcase their work.

AFA Night Live!

Meet a stellar cast of virtual YouTubers (VTubers) and artists on 26 November during a hololive Meet, an interactive live talk show and Meet & Greet session. VTubers Moona Hoshinova (hololive Indonesia), Anya Melfissa (hololive Indonesia), Mori Calliope (hololive English), Gawr Gura (hololive English) make their debut in Singapore. Vtuber Tsunomaki Watame will be performing in a full 3-D concert as well as part of AFA Night Life! on 26 November.

On 27 November, don’t miss I Love Anisong one of the region’s most anticipated music events. Four hours of concerts by four artistes, artiste groups and three special showcases by virtual talents. Junna, the singing voice of Mikumo Guynemer, the ace vocalist of the singing unit “Walküre”, in the latest Macross TV anime “Macross Delta”, will be part of the line up. Other artistes in the line up include May’n, nanawoakari, NHOT BOT, and Yuka Nagase.

“The ACG genre has become part and parcel of mainstream culture in recent years, with Anime releases fast gathering momentum in mainstream streaming platforms and theatres alike. The pandemic has also changed the way we consume content, and we see trends such as Vtubers (virtual YouTubers) rise in popularity. We are excited to be back again to bring our fans together and offer the ultimate experience and celebration of the latest trends and best content. Fans will also have the chance to engage with top Japanese artistes, top creators, top cosplayers and behind-the-scenes teams of the season’s most successful productions,”

Mr Shawn Chin, Founder of SOZO and organiser of AFASG22.
