13 March 2012, Singapore – Shane Neubronner and Robin Yoong have volunteered to have their heads shaved for St. Baldricks Foundation, a global volunteer-driven charity committed to funding research for cures for childhood cancer.  They hope to raise at least S$4,000 for the St Baldrick’s Foundation. The motivation behind this fundraising event is to support the goal of ensuring that the kids have the most sophisticated medical treatment to combat the illness and become healthy again due to cutting-edge cancer research.

It takes two colleagues to volunteer their hair, but it takes all of us to conquer cancer.

Adopting the moniker, The Bald Ultimatum, the duo started their ‘shave process’ by focusing on their face, hands and legs as a run-up to the event on Wednesday, 15 March 2012. Yesterday, the duo underwent their virgin boyzillian waxing treatment to strip all their hair from waist down and we captured them in this video footage.  We feel the pain for them.  Filming it was as painful as watching it!!

Here’s how you can support The Bald Ultimatum

  • Click on http://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/thebaldultimatum
  • Hit the ‘Make a Donation’ option on the left of the page (in green)
  • Please select ‘Donate in Singapore’ to access the options.
  • Indicate ‘Robin Yoong’ or ‘Shane Neubronner’ under the ‘Shavee Name’  and you will receive an email verification when the donation has been processed.

The donated funds will be matched by the Singapore Government, with DUKE-NUS administering the funds for the Duke-NUS Pediatric Cancer Research Fund (). The Duke-NUS Pediatric Research Fund is a non-endowed research fund that supports research into children’s medical conditions, in the hope of achieving breakthroughs in the detection, diagnosis, assessment, treatment or prevention of these medical conditions.

Shane and Robin will also be at Harry’s @ Millenia (9 Raffles Boulevard, #01-75A, Millenia Walk) on 15 March 2012 at 6pm, to shave their head! Come on down and show your support for the duo!
