Singapore Gets a Revamped Eurasian Heritage Gallery

The Eurasian Association has revamped the Eurasian Heritage Centre calling it the Eurasian Heritage Gallery which will officially launch on 21 September 2019 and open to the public the next day. The public can then visit any day except on Mondays from 9 am to 5 pm.

The highly interactive Gallery promotes awareness about the roots of the Eurasian community, the pioneers who have contributed to nation-building and various aspects of Eurasian culture including religion, cuisine, music and sports.

More photos, artefacts and oral histories have been added in collaboration with the EA Heritage Committee and the Singapore Philatelic Museum. Visitors can also check out items donated by well-known Eurasian sporting heroes such as Joseph Schooling and Heather Siddons. Listen to the creole language of Kristang that is spoken by people of mixed Portuguese and Asian ancestry.

2019 marks the 100 year anniversary of the Eurasian Association in Singapore. The association hopes to instil a sense of belonging among the Eurasian community and raise awareness among the wider society about Eurasian heritage, culture and contribution.
