Clipper Round The World Race is the world’s longest ocean race that is made up of a fleet of twelve 70-ft ocean racing yachts sailing off from London on September 2013 to cities across six continents before heading back to London on July 2014. Singapore will be the next stop for the race. The teams are expected to reach Singapore on 8 to 9 February after a four weeks in the seas from Brisbane.
Kong Chian Toh, a Singaporean healthcare executive and a keen amateur sailor, is participating in the Chinese and Pacific legs of the race to experience the challenge of ocean racing. Toh is now sailing back to Singapore on yacht Mission Performance from Brisbane, followed by sailing into strong headwinds and the sub-zero Chinese winter to Qing Dao and finishes his race with a 6,000 miles non-stop journey to San Francisco through the cold stormy North Pacific.
The racing fleet will stopover in Singapore from 8-15 February at One15 Marina on Sentosa before heading off to their next port Qing Dao. You can follow the progress of the Mission Performance yacht on the Clipper Race tracker on the official web site at www.clipperroundtheworld.com
