Step into an edible ode to nature’s liquid gold this season with the Golden Nectar Afternoon Tea at InterContinental Singapore’s The Lobby Lounge. Running from 1 April to 15 July 2025, this new bee-themed offering is a luxurious collaboration with New Zealand wellness brand Comvita, best known for its premium UMF™ Mānuka Honey.

This is by far the best Afternoon Tea experience I’ve had so far this year. From the moment the dry ice fog rolled in, it felt like stepping into a golden daydream. Every bite was beautifully balanced. Indulgent yet delicate, thanks to the clever use of Comvita’s premium Mānuka honey. It wasn’t just a meal, it was a full-on sensory escape wrapped in elegance and wellness.
This afternoon tea experience is curated by Executive Pastry Chef Jason Goh, who has transformed the concept of teatime into something rich, refined, and refreshingly wholesome. Served on rustic stepped stands with theatric dry ice flair, the setting alone sets the tone for an enchanting afternoon.

Expect a line-up of savouries and sweets that showcase the complexity of honey as a culinary ingredient. Start with Foie Gras and Duck Rillettes on brioche, balanced with Rewarewa honey and pink peppercorns. Then move on to wild mushroom and Brie tartlets, glazed salmon with clover honey miso, and an indulgent Quiche Lorraine. The savoury menu is sophisticated without being showy, and each bite has been considered for its flavour and texture.

CAKE PISTACHIO MANUKA HONEY
CHOUX PUFF HONEY REDCURRANT MOUSSE

Then the sweets arrive. You’ll want your camera ready. The Chrysanthemum Honey Pavlova comes topped with a tiny sugar bee. The Pistachio Mānuka Honey Choux Puff hides a cloud of green tea honey chantilly. There’s also a layered Medovik cake, a tart redcurrant mousse with Rewarewa honey, and a spiced ginger tartlet. Each dessert balances richness with a floral lightness, thanks to the careful use of various honey varietals.
No afternoon tea is complete without scones. Here you’ll find traditional plain and raspberry ones, served with Devonshire clotted cream, passionfruit compote, and wild blueberry jam, making the classic combo feel new again.

Every set includes a pot of loose-leaf tea or coffee, along with unlimited ice cream (yes, really). But you’ll want to level up. The Queen Bee cocktail (S$20++) adds a buzz with Thai Mekhong spirit and citrusy kumquat liqueur, while the Honey Buzz mocktail (S$16++) is a fresh, apple-based drink sweetened with Comvita’s Mānuka Honey.

As a sweet bonus, every guest will receive a Comvita gift set with UMF™ 5+ Mānuka Honey, lozenges, and a $5 voucher. The first 30 diners will also receive a free jar of Multifloral Honey.
In honour of World Bee Day (20 May), guests dressed in yellow from 19 to 25 May will receive a complimentary Honey Buzz mocktail. It’s a charming nod to the bees whose work underpins this entire indulgence.
Afternoon tea is priced at S$65++ per person on weekdays, S$70++ on weekends, with a minimum of two diners. Choose from two seatings: 1pm to 3pm, or 3:30pm to 5:30pm. If you’re looking to indulge while still feeling virtuous, this is your golden opportunity.
