Craving Malaysian street food in Orchard Road without crossing the Causeway? EatAlley at Orchard Gateway has refreshed its line-up as it turns three, expanding from eight to 13 Malaysian street food brands from Penang, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur.
Located at #B2-12 Orchard Gateway, near Somerset MRT, EatAlley brings together familiar hawker favourites in an air-conditioned food court setting. The best part? Most dishes are kept under S$10, which is quite rare for Orchard Road these days.

The new stalls are worth paying attention to. Awesome Char Koay Teow serves Penang-style char koay teow cooked to order in small batches, with imported Penang kway teow, fresh cockles, prawns, beansprouts, chives and a blend of six sauces from Penang. It is helmed by third-generation hawker Low Ping Khuan, with the stall earning Michelin Bib Gourmand 2026 recognition in Penang.

For something lighter but still comforting, NaJian Ipoh Kueh Teow brings in Ipoh-style kai si hor fun, also known as Ipoh kway teow. The bowl comes with silky flat rice noodles imported from Ipoh, shredded chicken and a slow-simmered broth made with chicken bones, pork bones and prawn shells. Perfect if you want subtle flavours that are not too overpowering.

Penang Road Laksa @ Chan Ping Kopitiam is another new addition, serving Penang assam laksa with fresh selayang fish, assam paste and chilli mix from Penang. The broth is cooked for over four hours and finished with torch ginger, spices and thick prawn sauce for that sour, sweet, spicy and savoury hit.

Seafood lovers can head for Petaling Street Grill Fish, inspired by Kuala Lumpur’s grilled seafood tradition. The signature sambal stingray and lala are grilled with nyonya-style sambal, then served with lady fingers and long beans.

One of the most nostalgic additions is Xiao Lin Hokkien Prawn Mee. Founded in 1971 by Mr Tah Soon Tuk, the stall still follows its original recipe and uses the same suppliers. The Penang-style prawn mee broth is simmered for up to five hours with prawn shells and pork ribs, then served with housemade chilli paste for extra kick.

Beyond the new stalls, EatAlley still has its existing Malaysian favourites, including Hong Lai Hokkien Mee, Kampung Nasi Lemak, Koon Kee Wanton Mee, Lao You Ji, Pudu Claypot Chicken Rice, Siong Huat Bah Kut Teh, Soong Kee Beef Noodles, Uncle Beh Pork Noodles, drinks, desserts and Jian Bo Shui Kueh.
