Guest Chef Metin Isci from Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum will showcase his culinary finesse from 3 to 12 March 2016 at Melt Café. The buffet spread at the newly renovated restaurant features dishes such as Bodrum seafood soup of vegetables and fish in a piping hot Bodrum Balik Çorbasi, followed by traditional lamb and beef grilled Kebabs paired with soft thin unleavened Lavash Flatbread as well as the Tuzda Levrek, delectable Mediterranean sea bass wrapped and baked in a flaky salt crust.

From 6 to 10 March and 13 to 17 March, you can enjoy a taste of Taiwan at Seasonal Tastes in The Westin, Singapore. W Taipei’s Sous Chef Daniel Chen will prepare authentic dishes from his home city. He has selected the most popular Taiwanese delicacies for this food festival and also some local dishes from his hometown in Yilan.

Look out for the Yilan-style Pork Intestine and Garlic Stew, Crispy Stuffed Pork Drumstick as well as other favourites such as Taiwan Fried Chicken, Oyster Vermicelli, Braised Beef Noodle Soup or even a cup of Bubble Tea. For desserts, check out the Pineapple Cake or the Peanut Mochi. These dishes are served on rotation.

Penang Hawkers’ Fare 30th Anniversary

The signature Penang Hawker Fare at White Rose Café in York Hotel returns this year from 11 to 27 March, 2 to 18 September and 16 December to 1 January 2017. This year York Hotel Singapore celebrates 30 years of bringing in Penang Hawkers to Singapore.

To celebrate, York Hotel is bringing new dishes, exclusive cooking workshops as well as offering prizes. There will be 12 stalls with the latest stall featuring a famous Penang item, Pasembur a Chinese-India style salad.

The café has undergone a facelift and a brand new show kitchen that will feature the hawkers showing off their culinary prowess with a la minute live cooking and preparation of crisp Lor Bak and Oyster Omelette.

Other favourites include Penang Laksa, Penang Prawn Mee, Char Kway Teow, Nasi Lemak with Nonya Chicken Kapitan, Penang Rojak, Cuttlefish Kang Kong, Lor Bak, Kway Teow Soup or Dry, Oyster Omelette, Pasembur, Ban Chang Kueh and other cold desserts.

Cooking workshops will be held on 12 and 19 March at S$12. Participants will receive a S$12 dining voucher which can be redeemed for a la carte dining at the White Rose Café.

Spend a minimum of S$80 and get Tikam Fun Dip where you can win prizes such as 30% discount vouchers for the next edition of Penang Hawkers’ Fare, S$12 meal vouchers for a la carte dining and limited-edition recyclable tote bags. There is also a grand lucky draw at the end of the final edition of the Penang Hawkers’ Fare where eight pairs of patrons will a trip to Penang inclusive of return tickets and accommodation. The Penang Hawkers’ Fare is priced at S$29++ per adult and S$20++ per child under 12 for weekdays and S$33++ per adult and S$23++ per child below 12 for the weekends. Reservations are not allowed.

Enjoy traditional Sam Gye Tang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup), Deung Galbi Kimchi Jjim (Spicy Pork Rib Stew with Kimchi), Doenjang Samgyeopsal Gui (Roast Pork Belly with Bean Paste Sauce), Sundubu Jjigae (Spicy Seafood Tofu Stew) and Japchae (Sautéed Glass Noodles with Vegetables), as well as quintessential Korean street food such as Dukboki (Spicy Rice Sticks with Chilli Sauce), Odeng (Fish Cakes in Anchovy Stock); and many more.

Triple Three at Mandarin Orchard Singapore goes Scandinavian from 24 March to 3 April 2016. Priced at S$118++ for adults and S$48++ for children aged between 6 and 12), the New Scandinavian Flavours is available for dinner from 6.30pm to 10pm daily or Sunday lunch from 12pm to 2.30pm.
