The PENFOLDS Wine Lounge Event at ION Orchard till 7 November

From 2nd to 7th November 2010, 11am to 9pm daily, the PENFOLDS Wine Lounge Event is open to members of the public, where each visitor will be offered a full suite of PENFOLDS wines to try at ION Orchard (Level 1).

With complimentary wine sampling and wine appreciation classes, both wine novices and connoisseurs will be able to appreciate wine better. Jane Gibbs, PENFOLDS Wine Ambassador flew in from Barossa Valley, the home of PENFOLDS, to personally conduct these exclusive wine classes and tutored tastings. On-site PENFOLDS sommeliers will also be provide personal tutorils to help visitors understand their wine varietal preferences and help enhance their overall wine experience.

Jane’s passion for PENFOLDS was love at first sight, beginning the moment she first drove through the Magill Estate vineyard, the spiritual home of PENFOLDS that has a winemaking heritage dating back to 1844. She has been with PENFOLDS for 14 years building an extensive experience in all areas of the brand, developing her love and knowledge of PENFOLDS and culminating with her role as a winery ambassador.

As an ambassador, Jane works closely with the winemaking and viticulture teams co-ordinating VIP guest visits to the winery and vineyards. Every guest who deals with Jane soon becomes an ambassador in their own right. “Before I visited the home of PENFOLDS, I had PENFOLDS in my heart – now I have it running through my veins” – Jane’s favourite quote from a European Guest.

Also another unique service of PENFOLDS is their Red Wine Re-corking clinic programme. Owners of PENFOLDS wines which are 15 years and older, can have their wines assessed by a winemaker, and if necessary, opened, tasted, topped up and recapsuled on the spot.
