Dengue in Singapore and My Personal Journey
Last year NEA received over 34,000 reported Dengue Fever cases. I was amongst this statistic. In fact, I shared my journey of Dengue on Community Care Buddy.
Out of the over 30,000 cases last year, there were 29 deaths. The Aedes aegypti mosquito population was still high in some areas at the end of last year. Hence, we just have to continue to be vigilant and do our part to avoid another dengue outbreak this year. It is a community effort.
After I recovered, I did a public service announcement piece about insurance coverage that takes care of Dengue.

Features of Pulse by Prudential App
|AI-powered Symptom Checker
|The AI-powered chatbot provides insights into possible health conditions based on the symptoms experienced. At the end of the chatbot conversation, you are guided to an appropriate triage outcome (e.g. ‘Self Care’, ‘Pharmacy’, ’GP’, ‘GP urgent’, ‘Hospital’ or ‘Hospital urgent’). It provides further information about possible causes where available. This tool has been recently updated to provide alerts on specific symptoms and conditions that could be related to COVID-19.
|This is a lifestyle assessment and disease risk prediction tool. Complete a 15-minute digital questionnaire and get a report in real-time. Understand your overall health status and long-term disease risks based on their lifestyle habits, medical history, family’s medical history, diet and mental health.
The report is presented through a “Digital Twin”. It includes health advice to help one reduce disease risks and improve overall well-being.
|Video Consultation with a Doctor
|Schedule a video consultation with a GP anytime. The GPs are available 24/7 and will diagnose and advise on the appropriate treatment(s). Opt for delivery of your prescribed medicine or collect it at a local Guardian pharmacy.
|Connect your Fitbit or Garmin wearable or Apple Health or Google Fit to the app. Be guided to achieve your health objectives such as weight management or reducing stress.
|Health Awareness Content
|Access engaging and relevant health awareness content through articles, videos and infographics.
|Body Mass Index and Wrinkle Index
|Understand body fat and ageing speeds by uploading a selfie.
|Search for the nearest CHAS clinic or hospital.
